Logitech gaming framework memory leak windows 10#
Recently I started using Windows 10 (build 1809) again on a fresh installation and the "runaway memory leak" (the Wacom support will probably remember this definition I gave them) from Wacom_TouchUser.exe could still be occasionally observed with the latest drivers. I ended up using Linux for a good while, where such problem would not appear. So I have done everything suggested and some more but no improvement.A year ago I exchanged quite a lot of emails with the Wacom support team and did many tests in addition of sending many logs, but nothing specific could be found and eventually communications ended. Couldn't record as Nvidia shadow play service disabled, but basically it looked the same as before, same stutter. However micro stutter still present when talking to a quest giver. Had to use in game FPS monitor to show me FPS, which was 60. Otherwise everything else off.Īs Nvidia was also disabled following ' disabling all non Microsoft services' game was obviously much lower quality. Two errors appeared on startup relating to apps not starting because disabled.Ĭhecked System Config again and some McAfee services had restarted themselves. Repeated Option 1: Disable all startup items just to troubleshoot.įollowed advice in section 'Identifying problematic non-Microsoft Services' by disabled all non Microsoft services and rebooted PC.

Logitech download assistant wasn't in my system tray, and couldn't find it in my task manager, so just tried to turn off in startup apps again. Couldn't change for Ram Cache III so tried to switch off in apps again.įound a setting in Logitech Gaming Framework so changed that and turned off in apps again. Tried to look in the apps to see if there are any settings I can change for startup. Logitech Download Assistant, Logitech Gaming Framework and Ram Cache III. Found that three apps re-enabled themselves in Start-up app settings. Option 2: Disable startup items selectively - First I disabled start up apps Issue with micro stutter still persists same as before. Option 1: Disable all startup items - Tried this and didn't seem to stop any processes from starting up on reboot such as steam for example, so seems like setting did nothing.Ĭhecked game anyway. So back to background apps, and tried linked article regarding disabling background applications. Went to a quest giver for close up scene with character and npc and dithering/micro stutter is still there.

Lastly, I have downloaded a couple of Windows Updates that I could find via Windows Update and restarted my PC.

Couldn't find anything else showing that the iGPU is used for anything. iGPU Multi Monitor already set to Disabled. I have also had a look in my BIOS settings and only changed Primary Graphics Display from Auto to PCIE (My RTX GPU). So now both my monitors are plugged into my GPU and no monitors are plugged into my motherboard. I do have a smaller secondary monitor hooked up to my iGPU, so I have moved that to my RTX GPU to see if it makes any difference. Desktop users only way around it seems to be to set BIOS to use dedicated GPU only and to make sure all monitors are plugged into dedicated GPU. Researching it seems that option is available to Laptop users, not to most desktop users. So not sure how I can set my preferred GPU other then in my BIOS. So second point regarding NVidia CP, I am using the latest Nvidia CP version (8.1.940.0) and I'm missing the option to use a 'Preferred Graphics Processor'. Wanted to try NVidia fixes then go back to further background app fixes. As I said I never have EDGE open when I game, so that can't be the issue.

Tried again with EDGE closed to see if that is the culprit, and yup, close EDGE, redo MSINFO and memory available is now showing as 25.6GB, so EDGE is definitely hogging resources.

I think my computer having only 16.9GB available could be that I had EDGE open when I ran the MSINFO. I just try to make sure I have it closed when it's not required. That's not something I can fix as it's a long standing issue with most browsers. The only heavy hitting program I have open right now for example is Microsoft EDGE (20% memory usage), and I know it's prone to memory leaks so I ALWAYS close my browser when gaming. That all amounts to 19% normal usage for memory/2% for CPU). Before trying anything in your linked article regarding disabling background applications I tried the following:-įirst point about background processes is that I couldn't see anything majorly hogging resources (all sat at 0%, 0.1% with a couple of 0.2%) and there was nothing I could think to remove as all the background applications running were needed (example Intel services, McAfee, Nvidia, Microsoft, Cortana, Steam, Runtime services etc.
